Can Ayurvedic Medicine help me?

Healthcare:

It is a fact, many modern pharmaceuticals, from powerful heart medications and antibiotics, even to the simple aspirin have been derived directly from ancient plant and fungal sources. Many natural substance exhibit remarkable abilities and improve well being and intervene in disease processes at the molecular level. Scientists, often inspired by the school of Ayurvedic medicine, continue to discover medically useful plant compounds, which demonstrate such powerful anti-inflammatory, anticancer, antibiotic, and anti-aging properties.

Ayurvedic medicine is a unique holistic system, based on the interaction of body, mind and spirit. In Ayurvedic medicine, the origin of all aspects of existence is pure intellect or consciousness. Energy and matter are one. Energy is manifested in the five elements; ether, air, fire, water and earth - which ultimately form the basis of all matter. The treatment of the Ayurveda in this ancient practice is based on Indian herbs, which has a healing energy.

Turmeric, here is the case in point - used most extensively in Ayurvedic medicine delivers a smorgasbord of powerful health benefits. Turmeric powder is amongst other medicines, a remedy for stomach complaints throughout Asia. In Hawaii, it is reportedly used to treat swimmer's ear (infection) and sinus infections. Perhaps one of its most important applications is as an anti-inflammatory for the treatment of arthritis; it has been used as such in China and India for thousands of years.

Although scientific investigation into the thrapeutic properties of Curcumin is ongoing, it seems clear that this plant pigment from a humble tuber has powerful healing potential. It seems highly likely that adding Curcumin to one's diet makes exceptionally good sense. Curcumin appears to prevent certain cancers, inhibit cardiovascular disease, and quell inflammation, and may even offer protection against Alzheimer's disease.

Because it has been consumed safely by millions of people, literally for millennia, the choice to supplement one's diet regularly with Curcumin would seem to be a no-brainer. One word of caution, however: the gut poorly absorbs Curcumin. Its absorption and bioavailability are significantly enhanced by the addition of an agent such as piperine, a natural alkaloid derived from black pepper. Now, this otherwise poorly absorbed super-herb - has greater bio-avaialability and conceniience in capsule form with 'Curcumin98' now including 5% bioperine (black pepper).
